STU/66th Council/14/026
18 November 2014
DO NOT LET THE ORGANIZATION TAKE AWAY YOUR RIGHTS
The new Rules of the Medical Benefits Fund (MBF) have been published despite the fact that the Extraordinary General Assembly of Participants, meeting on 4 September 2013, did not approve them.
The new Rules no longer allow the MBF to be the autonomous, self-managed health insurance scheme it has been for the past 66 years.
The new Rules remove the oversight and decision making role held by participants.
The new Rules foresee no quality control of management, nor any independent oversight nor recourse against unilateral decisions.
In accordance with paragraph 7 (a) of the Statutes of the Appeals Board, we invite staff to protest in writing against the publication of AC/HR/43 , published on 21 October 2014.
Please refer to the attached memo that has to be sent by 20 November 2014 at the latest, if you work at Headquarters, or 20 December 2014, if you work in the Field.
After a delay of one month, if you work at Headquarters, or two months, if you work in the Field, you will have the right to submit a notice of appeal in writing to the Secretary of the Appeals Board.
With the help of external legal advice, STU will assist every staff member who wishes to do so, to draft this detailed notice of appeal.
Let's join forces, join STU now!
