Based on information from HRM, we are pleased to share a projection of occupied posts to be cut under document 37 C/5: Programme and Budget for 2014-2017 (see table here).

STU recalls that as yet, there are no commonly agreed, objective criteria to be applied Organization-wide regarding posts to be abolished and incumbents to be redeployed, subject to suitable posts being available.

If these criteria are not established now, the process will be flawed! HRM has been unable to provide us with those criteria. It is imperative that they be developed before the restructuring operation begins.

In addition, the STU notes with concern that half of the vacant posts have recently been advertised directly externally. The exception has become the rule, often in violation of the Human Resources Manual.
