Dear colleagues,

Please find here the statement by the representative of the Federation of International Civil Servants' Associations (FICSA) to the Fifth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly at its 70th Session.

FICSA expresses in particular its opposition to the proposed reform of the compensation package. These proposals, if implemented, will hurt the United Nations' ability to attract and retain the staff it needs, and will have particularly negatively impacts on women, single parents and front-line field workers.

The STU supports the opinion of FICSA and will keep you regularly informed of the situation.
