Low Cost Missions for Some

The STU is terribly surprised, as are our colleagues with Service Contracts (SC) or Short Term Contracts (STC) directly concerned, by the establishment by HRM of a reduced Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) rate to 75% for official missions.

Not only this appears to be unique and unprecedented in the United Nations system, but it is above all discriminatory vis-à-vis our colleagues who perform their duties at the same cost as permanent staff.

Moreover, as possible derogations to this new rule requesting full DSA are often granted, this measure does not result in any type of savings. On the contrary, it has significantly increased the already heavy administrative workload common to all of us.

The STU therefore asks, in the name of equal treatment at work for all, the immediate withdrawal of the measure.
